The web is not a secure place these days because of some malicious users who, through their knowledge and skills enjoy damaging and stealing someone else’s personal information.

As long these types of users exist, there will always be a need for antivirus products and firewalls. There is always a possibility of your PC getting attacked by the online threats. It’s better to be aware of these types of dangers so you would know how to deal with them.

online security threats Malware is the short form for malicious software. Today,  it’s the most dangerous online threat on web. Forget about the spams or viruses, malwares are the worst kind of threat that is being used by all hackers all over the world to steal personal information of web users. Malwares consist of a programming code or script that is made to interrupt different operations or gain personal information of any user and gains access to someone’s PC remotely.

Malwares has some of it’s own types

  • Adwares
  • Spywares
  • Trojans
  • Rootkits
  • Worms
  • Backdoor

Spywares and Trojans as well as worms can be attached to some files or softwares that may look attractive or desirable to a user and those malwares are made FUD (fully undetectable) through crypters so that antivirus does not catch them. They can steal your personal information and access your computer remotely and destroy your PC completely.

Rootkits are those malwares which are used to make other malicious softwares undetectable so that they remain concealed and hence, are not detected as a threat.

Phishing has also been a major threat to users online. Phishing is a technique in which an exact replica of a website is made and then that page is distributed over net. Then, users are fooled by those pages to enter their private  information like bank details or a social networking  login detail and then this information is sent to the attacker so he can use that information as he wish.
