Most of you have already heard the word ‘Android’ but many have little knowledge of what really is Android and it’s various applications. In this tutorial, I will tell you everything that you might want to learn about an Android.

What really is an Android?


Android is an Operating system designed for various mobile handsets, includig smartphones, PDAs and tablet PCs. This operating system was developed by open handset alliance which was led by Google.

Android has been released under Apache license, a free software license which makes it more popular.

Now, many people know about Android and use the software before playing Party Poker.

It is basically a software stack developed for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. The Android SDK provides the tools and APIs which are  necessary for developing applications based on the Android platform with the help of JAVA programming language. Android also consists of a Linux kernel with middleware, libraries, and API’s written in C language.

The Android community has a large number and team of developers developing application for Android  devices which provides an Android user with new and unique applications to use. The applications are written in Java.

At this time, there are more than 2,500,000 applications available for Android on web.

The best place to look for any Android application is the  Android Market. The Android market is an online application market where the latest Android apps are provided which can be downloaded for free with the help of some 3rd party site.

Today, Android has become the most popular operating software in the market for smartphones, PDAs and tablet PCs as it has provided its user with many new and innovative applications to use. Users can easily download various apps available to them through the Android market. Google adds nearly 25,000 Android applications to it’s list daily which has helped Android to become a popular operating system in these past 2-3 years.

One of the most important things that has made it popular is the ease of use of this operating system. It’s really easy and simple to operate an Android which has made it more popular among users.

    Nice explained features mate, If you notice the names of android version you will see that they are in alphabetical order. Also Android 1.6 (Donut) and Android 1.0 (Cupcake) :)

    Just like I mentioned a few minutes ago in your Google+ is growing post – I have a hard time betting against Google. As soon as I heard about Android I was on board, and it has been a safe bet that still has room for huuuuuge growth.

    Keep betting on Google, especially with Jobs gone.
