begginers

This is my first post on Tech bugs. So I thought of starting with a topic of my interest, beginners guide to hacking. In this post, I will tell you the meaning of hacking and hackers and the qualities that you will require to become a hacker so you would explore and have fun with the web like never before.

Hacking

Let’s start of with the term hacking. Basically, the term “hacking” means breaching or breaking into someone’s system or into a computer network to access their personal information and their sensitive data. But this is not 100% correct. The knowledge of hacking is not only used for breaking into someone’s security, it can be used even for improving your security. The term “hacking,” if viewed in a positive sense can be also termed as the desire and will to understand about the mechanism that works behind everything on the web.

Hackers

There have been many controversies for the term “hackers”. If we ever hear something like a website has been hacked by some user or a user group, then the first thing that comes into our mind about that person is that he or she is a hacker and has a great depth of knowledge in the field of computers and the Internet. But all hackers cannot be grouped under the same category. Some users, normally computer programmers say that those people who hack into a system or a computer network just for fun or for some malicious reasons should not be termed as hackers. They should be put under the category of “hackers”. They say that all hackers do not hack into a system for malicious purposes only. They do it in order to check the security of a network and for testing purposes only.

Basically there are only two types of hackers:

  • White Hat Hackers

These are those users who are ethical in their work, i.e those people who hack into a system security for testing purposes and not for fun or for malicious attacks. These people usually work with a company group for testing purposes.

  • Black Hat Hackers

These are those users who hack for fun. They have no ethical purpose behind their attacks. They like to steal information and sensitive data of other users browsing through the Internet. They have no right motive behind their attacks.

Now let me tell you about some qualities that you should posses if you aspire to be a hacker:

1. Languages that you must know in order to start

  • HTML
  • JAVASCRIPT
  • C & C++

Aside from these languages, there are some other languages that you need to know if you want to be a real hacker. Some of which include vb.net, php, and more.

2. Familiar with the web

You should be familiar with all computing techniques and should also have a good knowledge about web. If you are not familiar with these, get yourself trained with computing skills and the most important part is web browsing. You should know how to search the web for what you want. Basic web knowledge is very important.

3. Dedication and will

These are the two utmost important qualities you should posses to become a true hacker. Without true dedication and will to learn new skills and techniques,  you cannot attain your goal of becoming a real hacker. You have to work hard to learn hacking skills and should have an eager mind to learn more and more new skills.

This beginners guide to hacking will definitely help anyone who wants to start with hacking as a career.
